Do not wear waterproof gloves for long periods without interruption!

Water from the sweat glands collects inside waterproof gloves. Eventually a moist condition is created which leads to a swelling up of the skin or the cornified layer. When your hands are once again dry, the excess water evaporates and the cells shrink again. Through this process the space between the cells and the skin becomes penetrable to materials from outside. That means that immediately after wearing gloves, your skin’s protective barrier is less effective, and you should pay particular attention to which substances you come in contact with. If you are in doubt, apply an appropriate protective skin cream immediately.

Gloves should only be worn when it is really necessary. Whenever there is no contact to skin-irritant materials, the gloves should be removed—for example, when making appointments, talking on the telephone, etc.

That means: give your skin a break!
