SAFEHAIR Privacy Policy

 

This notice wants to inform you of our policy about all information that we record about you. It sets out the conditions under which we may process any information that we collect from you, or that you provide to us. It covers information that could identify you (“personal information”) and information that could not. Our policy complies with German law accordingly implemented, including that required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Privacy Policy

Every access to SAFEHAIRS´s website will be stored on the web server as a protocol file for a maximum of 24 hours exclusively for the purpose of data security, pursuant to article 6.1 (a) of the GDPR. The serve log files are anonymized.

The server log files include the following data:

  • files accessed 
  • date and time of access
  • volume of data transferred
  • notice whether data was successfully accessed
  • geographical location
  • browser
  • screen resolution'
  • IP address of the user or provider is anonymized
  • Internet address of last Internet page visited (referrer)
  • information about the programme recalling data (user agent) 

 The data saved are not used for statistical purposes. They will not be disclosed to third parties for commercial or non-commercial purposes.

Website content

Your personal data are handled in full confidentiality. We make all necessary effort to take technical and organisational measures that might be required so as to ensure security of your personal data. The processing of personal data shall always be in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). The use of the Internet pages of SAFEHAIR is possible without any indication of personal data.  

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to datenschutzbeauftragter-iderm-osnabrueck(at)uni-osnabrueck.de. However, use made of your data, including imaging material, in the past remains valid.

Internet-based data transmissions may in principle have security gaps, so absolute protection may not be guaranteed.

 In cases of direct and indirect references to third-party Internet pages or other documents on the Internet (hyperlinks) we are not responsible for, we can only be made liable if we were aware of the content of the website or if it would have been reasonable and technically feasible to prevent the use of websites with illegal content. We hereby explicitly state that, at the time of setting the link, there was no evidence of illegal content on the respective website. We do not have any influence on the current or future design, the content or the copyright of the linked websites. SAFEHAIR has the exclusive copyright to all published objects created by SAFEHAIR. The reproduction or use of any such graphics, audio documents, video sequences or texts in other electronic or printed publications is prohibited without our consent.

SAFEHAIR Quiz

In order to participate in the quiz on SAFEHAIR´s website, you must provide us with certain personal data. These data are temporary stored to create the .pdf file. The .pdf can be downloaded by the user; the name of the user is not stored.  

Cookies

You can access the website and make full use of it without accepting cookies. 

 Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer's hard drive by your web browser when you visit any website.  These data are not merged with other saved data that are generated when you access the website or when you use other services that require you to enter personal data for a specific purpose.

SAFEHAIR´s website uses the following two types of cookies:

Session cookies, which are temporary cookie files and which are erased when you close your browser. A randomly generated unique ID, known as a session ID, is stored in a session cookie. A session cookie also contains information about its origin and the retention period. It is not able to store any other type of data. The session cookie used by SAFEHAIR is deleted as soon as the session is ended, in other words, when you close the browser window or open another page. When you restart your browser and go back to the site that created the cookie, the website will not recognize you. You will have to log back in (if login is required) or select your preferences/themes again if the site uses these features. A new session cookie will be generated, which will store your browsing information and will be active until you leave the site and close your browser. 

Persistent cookies – these files stay in one of your browser's subfolders until you delete them manually or your browser deletes them based on the duration period contained within the persistent cookie's file.

 Your web browser should allow you to delete any you choose. This function can be subsequently deactivated. It also should allow you to prevent or limit their use. However, if you choose not to use cookies or you prevent their use through your browser settings, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to use all the functionality of our website.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (GDPR), you have rights as an individual which you can exercise in relation to the information we hold about you:

  • right to request from us access to and rectification of your personal data;
  • right to request erasure of your data (right to be forgotten) in the cases foreseen by article 17 of the  GDPR;
  • right to obtain from us restriction of processing where there is contestation about the data processing for a period enabling to solve the issue;
  • right to data portability;
  • where the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing your consent means that we will not make use of your data any longer, including pictures. However, use made of your data in the past remains valid.
  • you have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to processing of your personal data which is based on Article 6(1), (f) of the GDPR (our legitimate purposes) as mentioned above.
